Okay, listen up. You crying about starting with nothing? Whining about no connections, no trust fund, no silver spoon jammed in your mouth? Pathetic. You think that empty bank account and lack of fancy pedigree gives you a free pass to sit on your ass and complain? You think the world owes you something because you drew a ‘bad’ starting hand? Get real.

I’m Abdulvasi. For twenty-five years, I didn’t just start with nothing; I started with less than nothing. Debt, disadvantages, doubters breathing down my neck. While you’re busy polishing your excuses, I was in the trenches, turning dirt into diamonds, building an empire from the goddamn dust with nothing but grit and a refusal to fail. You think your situation is unique? You think your ‘disadvantage’ is special? Bullshit. It’s just your favorite excuse.

You want to stop being defined by your empty pockets and start defining your own damn destiny? You want the raw, unfiltered truth about how to Rise From Nothing and make the world choke on your success? Then shut your excuse hole and absorb these commands. This isn’t a bedtime story; this is the brutal reality of forging greatness when you have zero margin for error. Ignore this, and stay exactly where you are – buried under the weight of your own victimhood. Let’s ignite.

Rise From Nothing: 5 Commands to Forge Your Empire from Absolute Zero

1. Command #1: Execute the Zero-Excuse Mandate—Your Past is Not Your Prison

Still blaming your upbringing? Your lack of opportunity? The system being rigged? Every word is a nail in your own coffin. Starting from nothing means you have zero luxury for excuses. Blame is a sedative for losers, making them feel better about staying put. Winners, especially those forged from nothing, operate under a different code: Radical Ownership. Your starting line doesn’t dictate your finish line unless you allow it to. Your past circumstances are context, not a life sentence.

My Ground Zero Declaration: When I started 25 years ago, I could have written a novel filled with legitimate grievances. Disadvantages piled high. But I made a brutal choice: My starting point is irrelevant. My actions from this second forward are all that matter. Every setback wasn’t ‘bad luck’; it was feedback. Every failure wasn’t ‘unfair’; it was tuition. Owning everything, even the shit circumstances I didn’t create, gave me the power to change them. Victims wait for rescue; warriors forge their own weapons from scrap.

The Law: Declare War on Your Own Excuses. Write down every single reason you tell yourself (or others) why you haven’t achieved what you want. Every single disadvantage, every single ‘if only’. Now, mentally (or literally) burn that list. Starting today, banish blame from your vocabulary. When faced with a challenge, ask only: “What action can I take now to overcome this?” Your focus shifts from complaining about the dark to lighting a damn match.

Your Move: Identify the ONE biggest excuse you use for your lack of progress. Today, consciously reject it. Articulate, even just to yourself, how you will operate as if that excuse doesn’t exist. Take ONE small action this week that directly contradicts that excuse. Prove it wrong with action.

2. Command #2: Master Resourcefulness—Ingenuity Trumps Inheritance

“I don’t have money.” “I don’t have connections.” “I don’t have the equipment.” Shut up. You think I started with a fat checkbook and a Rolodex full of CEOs? Starting from nothing forces the greatest asset you’ll ever have: Resourcefulness. The ability to achieve maximum results with minimum resources. To find clever workarounds, to trade skills, to learn voraciously for free, to squeeze opportunity from rocks. People with resources often get lazy; people with nothing are forced to get smart.

My Scrappy Beginnings: I bartered skills I barely had for services I desperately needed. I devoured library books and free online tutorials like a starving man (because I was starving for progress). I found discarded equipment and fixed it. I turned problems into opportunities – lack of marketing budget forced me to master free traffic strategies that later scaled massively. My lack of resources wasn’t a barrier; it was the forge that created my sharpest tools: creativity, hustle, relentless problem-solving. Rich kids buy solutions; warriors build them.

The Law: Stop Focusing on What You Lack; Maximize What You Have. You have time (stop wasting it). You have energy (stop complaining). You have a brain (start using it critically). You have access to infinite information (the internet). You have skills (even basic ones can be traded or honed). Audit your actual assets – time, energy, existing knowledge, basic skills, network (however small). How can you leverage these creatively to get the next step done? Think like a guerrilla fighter, not a general with unlimited supplies.

Your Move: List 3 things you do have right now (time, a specific skill, internet access, etc.). List ONE immediate goal that seems blocked by lack of resources. Brainstorm 3 creative, unconventional ways you could use your existing assets to make progress on that goal without spending money. Choose one and execute it this week. Get resourceful or stay broke.

3. Command #3: Lay Bricks Daily—Monumental Results Start Small

Paralyzed by the sheer scale of your ambition when you’re standing at zero? Thinking about the mountaintop when you haven’t even taken the first step? That’s how you stay stuck. Rising from nothing isn’t about one giant leap; it’s about laying one perfect brick, every single damn day. Consistency in small actions builds unstoppable momentum. Grand visions are useless without the discipline of daily execution.

Building from Dirt: My first ‘office’ was a corner of a shared room. My first ‘product’ was laughably simple. My first ‘sale’ was barely enough for groceries. But I focused on excellence in the immediate. Making that one sales call perfect. Writing that one piece of code flawlessly. Delivering that one small service exceptionally. Each small win, each brick laid with precision, built confidence, generated tiny cash flow, and created the foundation for the next, slightly bigger brick. Empires aren’t built overnight; they are assembled through relentless, disciplined, daily construction.

The Law: Obsess Over Daily Execution, Not Distant Dreams. Break down your monumental goals into the smallest possible actionable steps. Define the ONE most important brick you need to lay today. Not ten things. ONE. Then execute it with ferocious focus and quality. Win the day. Then repeat tomorrow. Small, consistent wins compound into massive results over time. Momentum is your best friend when starting from zero.

Your Move: Look at your biggest goal. What is the absolute smallest action you can take today to move towards it? Make it ridiculously small if you have to (e.g., research one competitor, write one paragraph, make one outreach attempt). Do it. Then schedule the next brick for tomorrow. Start building momentum now.

4. Command #4: Forge Unbreakable Will—Grit is Your Only Collateral

When you start with nothing, expect resistance. Expect setbacks. Expect rejection. Expect doors slammed in your face. Expect people to doubt you, laugh at you, tell you to quit. Expect to fail, repeatedly. The only thing that will carry you through this relentless storm is Unbreakable Will. Pure, undiluted grit. The refusal to stay down. The mental toughness to absorb punishment and keep advancing. When you have no money, no safety net, your willpower is your only collateral.

My Trial by Fire: I lost count of the rejections, the failed ventures, the moments I was down to my last dollar in my first decade. The logical choice often seemed to be quitting, getting a ‘safe’ job. What kept me going? Not talent, not luck. It was sheer, stubborn will. The absolute conviction that I would succeed, coupled with the discipline to keep taking action even when exhausted, demoralized, and seeing no immediate results. Mental toughness isn’t born; it’s forged in the fires of adversity you refuse to succumb to.

The Law: Cultivate Ferocious Mental Fortitude. Train your mind like a muscle. Practice discipline in small things to build it for big things. Embrace discomfort – do things that scare you. When faced with a setback, allow yourself a moment to feel it, then immediately refocus on the next action (Command #3). Learn to manage your internal state. Your mindset is the engine that drives you forward when everything external is pushing you back.

Your Move: Identify ONE thing you’ve been avoiding because it feels uncomfortable or you fear failure/rejection. This week, force yourself to do it. Feel the discomfort, acknowledge the fear, and push through anyway. Start building calluses on your mind. Resilience is built through exposure, not avoidance.

5. Command #5: Burn the Boats Behind You—Commitment Forces Victory

Still keeping that ‘safe’ backup plan in your back pocket? One foot in your dream, one foot in your escape route? That’s not commitment; that’s hedging your bet on failure. Rising from nothing requires total, unequivocal commitment. It requires burning the boats – eliminating your retreat options so that the only way forward is through. When failure is not an option, your creativity, resourcefulness, and will are amplified exponentially.

My Point of No Return: There were specific moments, especially early on, where I made decisions that cut off my retreat. Quitting a stable (but soul-crushing) side job. Investing my last few dollars into a critical tool instead of rent. Making a public commitment I couldn’t easily back out of. These weren’t reckless; they were strategic acts of commitment. They forced me to make it work because there was no plan B. The pressure of having no escape route focused my energy like a laser.

The Law: Engineer Your Own Commitment. Create situations where retreat is difficult or impossible. Invest your time, energy, and available capital significantly. Make public declarations of your goals (to create accountability). Cut off ties or habits that enable your ‘backup plan’ mentality. The more you have invested, the less likely you are to quit when things get tough. Force your own hand.

Your Move: Identify ONE ‘safety net’ or ‘backup plan’ that is subtly undermining your commitment to your primary goal. This week, take ONE action to make that safety net less accessible or less appealing. Increase your personal stake in succeeding at your main objective. Make commitment your fuel.

Stop Crying About the Start Line – Dominate the Race

So, you started with nothing. Good. You have no bad habits to unlearn, no reputation to protect, nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Your hunger should be sharper, your hustle harder, your will stronger than those who started ahead.

Stop seeing ‘nothing’ as a disadvantage. See it as clarity. See it as freedom. See it as the ultimate fuel.

For 25 years, I’ve proven that your starting point is bullshit. It’s the trajectory you create through relentless execution of these commands that matters. It’s about ownership, resourcefulness, daily action, unbreakable will, and total commitment.

Are you going to keep staring at your empty hands and crying about fate? Or are you going to clench those fists, embrace these commands, and start building your empire from the goddamn ground up?

The world doesn’t care where you started. It only respects what you build.
